4. Motor skills. Cut, peel, stir, knead. These are typical processes of cooking that give the child the opportunity to develop gross (body and arms) and fine (fingers, hand and coordination) motor skills.
5. Mathematics. Cooking is a practical experience to introduce mathematical concepts and abstract concepts (measurement, numbers, sequence).
6. Self-esteem. Children feel a real sense of accomplishment in serving the food they have prepared for family and friends!
